Travel & Transport
We encourage students to walk to school wherever possible, or at least park and stride from 5-10 minutes away. This reduces congestion directly outside the school and avoids unnecessary hazards to pedestrians and other road users.

Travel plan
In July 2021, St Bede’s was awarded the Modeshift Stars Education Bronze Award for delivering a Good Travel Plan.
Some of our students live a great distance from school, which means that it is difficult for them to journey to school without travelling by car. We recognise that while walking, scootering or cycling would be impossible for the large part of their journey, we aim to encourage students to instead ‘park and stride’, asking parents/carers to drop them or collect them from further afield, rather than directly outside the school gates to help limit congestion at the beginning and the end of the school day.
We have a number of bus routes that service the school, delivering and collecting to and from inside the school grounds. These services are fully utilised by a large number of students.
